A couple of Digital Layouts and Leap Year!

I can't believe that February is almost over! Today would be the last day...but as we all know due to leap year we get an extra day this month! So what are your "leap year" plans for tomorrow? Anyone doing anything special?

I think we might have a small little party just us and the kids...thinking movies, pizza and some board games might be in order!

Here are 2 more layouts that I made this month using Sandra's digital kits! If haven't checked out Seascraps as a designer...head over over to scrappinfreestyle.com and do so! You will be impressed with just how much she "packs" into a kit!

Caardvarks is having a contest!

I have been lurking over at Caardvarks for a while now...ever since Natalie (fellow Design Team member @ Scrappin' Sports) had mentioned the site on her blog. I am a fan of Natalie's work...so I had to go check them out...and I was really inspired by all of the creations that these amazing ladies were coming up with week after week...and when you throw in a fun contest...who can resist but to come out of lurk-dum and participate right!

So the contest was all about making a "friendship" card...and I was in a bright and cheery mood (due to the fact that Colorado is finally starting to warm up!)...so I reached for some of my piggy tales stash...the papers, rubons, stickers and ribbon are from their Ba, Ba, Black Sheep line...Piggy tales just makes me smile...and it is so fun to work with!

Anyway...here is my entry! Thanks for looking :)

Just a digital layout and a "shout out"

So today I was given a "shout out" from Lesli on her blog stating that I was one of her favorite hybrid/digital artists...I was shocked and honored! You can read it here on her blog...which by the way she is giving away really awesome prize packages on... (Click here). Thank you so much for the "shout out" Lesli it really made me smile.

This week and last week I have been busy on a lot of different digital projects...none of which I can share...LOL except for one....

Here is a layout that I made using Sandra's (SeaScraps) Holly Jolly digital Kit...if you want to find out more about Sandra's kits...click on my design team blinkie to the left (I design for seascraps) She has a lot of wonderful offerings!

This layout is of Ashlee at Christmas time...in her Gymboree Pj's...oh how I loved those Christmas Pj's this year...I think I seriously took 200 photos of my kids in their pj's...and I love them all!

I also got a lot of happy mail today! Scrappin’ Sports and More…the new game room papers are in the house! I am so honored to be a part of this amazing team! They treat their design team so well…and I am just in awe of how generous they are with us!

Scrappin’ Sports ladies are also just the best! And to prove it I will share with you what Tracy (fellow design team member) did…she hooked up the entire team with several bottles of Helmar glue products! (I have never owned so much adhesive!...can you say giddy!) (she is also on the Helmar design team…and thought of all of us at SSM- now how sweet is that!) I have never used these products before and I am really excited to tear into them all! Thanks again Tracy!

Another Contest at BBTB

If you haven't been bitten by the bug...you need to be! Bug being the cricut!

Over at the BBTB blog there is another fun contest going on right now! This contest was all about using the colors hot pink, yellow, green, orange and a touch of brown...I have to admit...it was a bit difficult for me...esp. the hot pink as it is not a color that I typically would grab...but I do love a good challenge so I decided to give it a go! It ended up being a lot of fun and now I have 2 new cards to show for it!

Here is what I came up with:

Card 1

Card 2 (*for the touch of brown I used my walnut ink on the edges)

As always there are a lot of talented ladies entering...very inspiring work...so head on over to check out all of the entries and also the awesome creations by the design team!

So I've been Tagged...

I was tagged by ReneƩ fellow Scrappin' Sports Design Team member, business partner/creative designer for Demoss Road Designs and all around good friend until you tagged me...j/k!

Ok so the rules are...

You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details).

So here we go

L- Loyal...I am a very loyal friend and I keep to my word.
I- Intelligent- Yes, believe it or not I am...LOL...I am a fast learner...more hands on...but also college educated...and life savvy.
N- Nice...yes people have described me with that word from time to time...believe it or not ;)
N- Naughty...yep...I can be that too...I have un-wrapped and re-wrapped more than 1 Christmas present in my life...shhh don't tell my husband...

Ok...so now my tags...let's see...L-Lauren, I'm (not sure I know anyone by "I"...so "I" like Meesh...Meesh you are tagged girl! LOL) the of course my 2 favorite Nicole’s... (Nic)(Nicole M)get the 2 N's...go girls go! can't wait to see what you come up with :)

So I'm feeling a Wee Bit Irish...

So...I was feeling a Wee Bit Irish today...after reading my CK magazine and seeing that Lisa Bearnson made an all green dinner for her family...how fun is that! I might just have to give that a go myself!

But to tide me over...I decided to make a little Irish Home Deco with Vinyl and you guessed it my design studio and cricut expression machine!

I stopped by my local JoAnn's store to pick up the material and my local home improvement store to pick up my glass shower block...I have yet another little glass block to turn a Wee Bit Irish as well...I hope to get that done tomorrow :)

Here is my project...

Now tell me...will this clover give me good luck? Or maybe help me find that pot of gold?

Relaxing Weekend

Well I took the weekend off...closed my scrapbooking room and spent the entire weekend with the family! We really didn't do much...other than relax, watch movies and go out to eat but it was a nice long weekend (due to the Pres. Day yesterday!).

It was also good for the MOJO to take a break I think...have you ever just felt really burnt out? Well I sure did...so I think it is best to step away for a few days when you start to feel that way! I know I feel much better!

Here is a digital layout that I was able to get done today during my kids nap time.

I used one of Janneke Smits fabulous kits called Blue Butterfly. This kit is available for purchase at Scrapstreet.com! If you haven't check out the store at Scrapstreet in a while...head on over there and do so...so many new offerings each month both digital and paper! In fact I swear by the paper kit club...it is such a wonderful value @ 15.00/month (I know...shocking)! If you are not a member you should definitely consider joining! I know there are only a few spots remaining...so get in on it today!

Cricut Cut for V-Day and a few altered mailboxes

So Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I haven't had too much time to play lately...it seems that I have had a lot going on but I wanted to share a few things that I was able to quickly make up in a few hours.

I picked up these ever so popular mailboxes in the dollar section at target about a month ago and I just haven't had the time to do anything with them.

At the beginning of the month I received my awesome Scrapstreet kit club kit (if you currently don't get the scrapstreet.com kit...you should! They are amazing!!!) and wouldn't you know it but it was filled with some yummy v-day goodies...the papers in this kit were from Sandylion...it's been a while since I have played with anything from them...and these papers were a lot of fun!

Here are the mailboxes finished...I made one for each of my kiddos...I was going to put their name on the front...but knowing my kids they would for sure want to have someone else's...so this way I will let them chose as the goodies inside the box are the same :)

So I haven't played with vinyl in a while...and I was in the mood to make a 12x12 tile for Valentine’s Day.

For those of you that would like to duplicate this here is the "cut" for this title.
http://www.mediafire.com/?1d0zdthwdyn

Supplies needed:

1. Cricut Expression
2. 12x12 mat
3. Vinyl (I picked up some from my local sign shop...they sell me their scraps for next to nothing...you can't beat it!)
4. For the cut I used printing press and Plantin Schoolbook cartridges.
5. Vinyl Transfer tape or contact paper

With your vinyl cut it to fix your 12x12 mat and load it into your cricut machine. Turn your setting down to the min. pressure so that it doesn't cut through the back of your vinyl.

After it is done cutting remove it from your machine and carefully "weed" out all of the extra vinyl leaving your frame and "be mine" down onto the vinyl sheet.

Then cut cover your design with transfer tape/contact paper and take a pampered chef scrapper and rub on the back grid side of your vinyl so you are moving your vinyl design to stick onto your transfer paper.

Remove grid backing (or the vinyl backing) now that it is stuck to your transfer tape.

Carefully line up your design so it is even with your tile and place down. Take your scrapper again and lightly scrap your design so that it releases from your transfer tape. (note if you are using contact paper...try to rub lightly as it is slightly more sticky then transfer tape and might leave a reside on your design.)

That's it...you are done! Enjoy your V-day tile!

Oh...and here is mine :)

Love is in the air! and who doesn't love Scrappin' Sports!

I just adore February...the feeling of falling in love all over again...well maybe not always...but there sure is a feeling of love in the air :)

I am still trying to recover from my week long sickness...but I wanted to share a layout that I made with my digital kit "Kissed by Cupid" Since it is already Feb. 2nd!

I also wanted to share a few scrappin' sports and more projects that I was able to complete with their new papers! I am also excited that 3 of my projects (2 layouts and a card) will be in their CHA booth at the winter show! Also don't forget to check out the other design team members work at the scrappin' sports and more website (click here for shortcut)!
