A Card and some vinyl creations

So with school being out I find myself with a bit more "free time"! Free-time means being able to stay up later than normal...which gives "mommy" a few extra hours a night to create! Woohoo!

So I have been organizing and moving things around in my room again...going through old design team kits and trying to challenge myself to use them up...I should have done this a long time ago...because I am really swimming in stuff! I have been thinking about "going green" more lately...and I think using up some of my old supplies before "buying" new...might move me in the right direction....what do you think?

So with some old 3 bugs and a new Martha Stewart Crafting punch I made this little card in just a few minutes...

For mother's day this year Chad and the kids got me the SCAL software! I just love how this has opened up a totally new world for my cricut! It's been a lot of fun playing with all of the fonts (as you can cut any true type font with this software and also any dingbat).

So here are a few vinyl projects that I made using my SCAL and cricut.

The Princess sleeps here vinyl wall sign (this is just above Ashlee's bed...she is just tickled with it in her room...and shows everyone that comes over...LOL) She also has shown all of us her sign (as a reminder) from time to time...yep she is a girly girl.

USA Glass Block: I actually made a few of these before the kids got out of school and gave them to the teachers as the "end of the year gift". I had this smaller block left over so I decided to make one for myself. I will put it up on the shelf in my kitchen next to a wooden American flag that I keep up during the summer.

Well I better get back to cleaning...I am trying to go through 1000 little primas that Gavin dumped out yesterday...gotta love a boy that likes flowers, right?

Happy Memorial Day and a few creations to share

Memorial Day at my house means lots of family time and a good 'ol BBQ! which is one of our favorite things to do...I just love to BBQ...so lucky for me so does my husband..since he is actually the one who does it :)

Today I find myself up before everyone else (which is pretty normal)...hubby and I watched 27 dresses last night...I thought it was a cute show...poor "over the top nice" girl...doing all of those insane things for other people on their wedding day... I can't even imagine!

Today I am going to head over to a few stores...that has to be one of the best things about a holiday...the sales! I have a 50% off at Michaels and I am hoping to purchase the threading water punch that everyone is loving :) Wish me luck on finding it! I also need to head to the grocery store, take the kids to the park (if the rain holds out) and work on a few Scrappin' Sports and More projects!

This week at page plans I was able to complete a hybrid card and a digital layout...yes I was in the mood to "play" with the dark side...it's been a while since I actually made a digital creation.

Here are my "takes" on the sketches this week...

Thank you Hybrid Card:

Sweet little Gavin I love you Digital Layout:

Over at BBTB this week we were challenged to use the "lucky" cut from the alphalicious cartridge...here is my take on the challenge

You will want to check out what the other designers did with the cut...amazing work!

Well I better get off the computer and get ready for the day...have a great memorial day everyone!

Whirlwind of a weekend...and a card

Wow! what a weekend we had...not only did we travel 8 hours by car to attend Chad's brother's wedding...but on the way (our first 8 hour leg on friday) our tire blew...and we sat for a while in the dark until some help arrived! We determined that Jackson (our oldest) is not the best to have in "emergency" situations...his little active mind really starts working overtime ;)

The wedding was Saturday. It was a lovely union and the day brought the best weather. I unfortunately forgot my camera at home so I don't have any photos to share of the bride and groom...but they both looked really good and were both glowing....it was a very nice occasion.

My wedding gift was a "hit"! I only wish I would have taken a photo (can you tell my life is a bit on edge lately). The groom did say that it was their "favorite gift"...which is just too sweet of them :) What I did was have a 18x18 tile cut in half and then put "Wuthrich Family" across the bottom in vinyl and est. 2008 just above that...wrapped it in cellophane, ribbon, a leaf or 2 and a card...added in a easel. It was really simple and I would defentley do it again for a wedding...and the best part is...they loved it :)

Sunday we headed for home...and well...we ran out of gas! LOL Let me explain...for some reason the Tahoe when you run it on cruise control for a long time it doesn't register the gas gage correctly...and going through Wyoming you can go miles and miles without seeing anything...well it said we had 64 miles left...which would have brought us to the next town...but well it didn't...so we again sat in the car waiting for help LOL!

I joked with my husband that they were going to know us by the time our next trip came around...;) So we end the trip with 4 new tires, a large gas bill, way to much fast food...and a priceless union of a cute couple.

So this week at page plans I was able to get a card done before I left town. This card is based off of Chris's Sketch...and here it is...

Well I better head off to get ready for the day. We are down to 2 school days left and I have an icecream party for the class today...it should be fun!

BBTB-Mug Challenge and Teacher Appreciation Week

Wow what a CRAZY week I am having...all I can say is less than 2 more weeks I hope things calm down! (Ok...all vented...LOL)

So this was my first week on the BBTB design team...these ladies are amazing! If you haven't checked out the BBTB site I highly recommend it.

This week we were challenged to use the "mug" cut from the Christmas Cheer Cartridge...here is my take on it....

So this week is teacher appreciation week and we have been blessed with some wonderful teachers this year! It's hard to believe that another year is almost over. I am grateful for all of the teachers that take the time to educate our children...I know it is a tough job!

After seeing what Regina Easter created this week with the "mug" cut from the Christmas cheer cartridge playing off of the word "espresso" I had to do it myself! So I "borrowed" the play on "espresso"idea and made this bucket for Jackson's teacher.

The front of the bucket is made from vinyl. (yes, lately I am addicted to vinyl) These buckets were just released @ target in the dollar spot (RUN! these are awesome buckets for a dollar!). I added in a Starbucks mug that you can sign and then bake, some coffee goodies and a gift card to Starbucks. This gift came together so quickly and was really well received...I will definitely make this again!

For all Jackson's other teachers I altered a few large candy bars...here is one of the candy bars I altered....

The notebook paper and the green paper are from Scrappin' Sports and More...if you haven't checked out their new lines...I highly recommend it.

I have a ton more projects in the "works" so lots more to share here in the next day or so :)
