Layout and card to share...and a "secret" toot...tease :)

Happy Monday everyone...I am really looking forward to this week...so many fun things going on...I should be receiving all of my Scrappin' Sports Goodies for CHA...I am really excited about that...Scrappin' Sports has some amazing goodies coming out. Also, I love the 4th of July...so this week is going to be a lot of fun!

So this week at Page Plans we were challenged to have our projects be centered around the 4th of July...so here is a digital layout I created of 2 of my kids last year...

Last year we spent the day down at the local "stampede" here in town...and enjoyed every minute of it...we rode all of the carnival rides, watch a rodeo, and enjoyed so many of those "fried on the stick things..." Yep good 'ol fashion fun :)

Over at BBTB this week we were challenged to use the accent essentials cartridge and use these little circle cuts...with the kids both having their birthdays this week I didn't have to much time to play...I was able to put this little card together in minutes...which is huge for me...LOL...here it is:

Ok...now for the "tease/toot" I have been asked to join another design team...I am really excited...more info...to come....SOON :) (how's that for a tease?)

Have a super day!

A card using my cricut, SCAL and Scrappin' Sports and More!

What a combo huh...I am an addict...love all 3 of these things...:) and with it being summer I have so much more "me" time...I can stay up way past my bed time and usually sleep in…which I love!

YES, we are enjoying a VERY lazy summer…awh…rest and relax…I actually forgot that today was Wednesday…that is how relaxed I am :)

I have been in creating mode lately…I should be in cleaning mode…but I am not…shhh don’t tell my husband! Last night I felt like making a card using my SCAL and cricut and this camouflage paper by Scrappin’ Sports and More was just calling my name. Isn’t it just WAY to fun and trendy!

I found a little dingbat font on the internet and loaded that into my computer to cut this little cute army tank. I just love the options that SCAL has opened up for me…it is a whole new world of fun!

Here is my “tanks" (cuz it’s a tank) "Tons" (cuz they weigh TONS…LOL) Yep I am a dork…and a cheesy one at that…LOL!

The bow could be a bit big...but hey I had it and showed "no fear" in using it :)

Have a great Hump day everyone :)

BBTB-Card to share

This week over at bitten by the bug we were challenged to use the banner cut from the celebrations cartridge...with some welding help from design studio I decided to turn this cut into the "roof" of a house the "smoke" from the chimney is actually the "favor cut" from the middle of the banner.

Anyway, I have been wanting to make a house card for some time...so I just couldn't resist!

Here's my card:

Isn't this paper and card stock stickers just perfect for this little house? It's the "love, Elsie" home collection paper line which has been in my stash for sometime now. Honestly, I just really didn't know what to do with it I feel a little "Elsie scared"...anyone else feel that way? However, after working with it this week has inspired me to get a few more projects done with it.

A TOOT and a layout to share

Happy Sunday! We are having beautiful weather here in Colorado today...I am having a pretty lazy day...didn't go out to church today because the little man (Gavin) is not having a fun day with his skin issues...but he is doing a bit better this afternoon...poor little guy :(

TOOT: So I got an exciting email last night from Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine requesting one of my hybrid cards for an upcoming issue! Woohoo! This was a card that was inspired by a sketch over at Page Plans...the card sketch was by Reneé! If you haven't check out the sketches at Page Plans you will want to.

Speaking of Page Plans...here is a layout that I made with this weeks sketch:

I can't believe that Ashlee will be 5 this weekend and Jackson will be 9...time is just flying.

Lots more projects in the works...I hope to be able to share more soon.

Gearing up for the Stampede!!!

I can't believe that it is almost the 4th of July! I love everything about the 4th of July! The fireworks, picnics, carnivals, and our local stampede which includes rodeos (including a kids rodeo), carnival rides, parades, petting zoo and more! What could be more American! and more fun!

As I was looking through the flyer's today about the stampede I remembered a layout that I did of Ashlee last year riding a ride at the carnival and thought I would share.

Do you love the 4th of July as much as me? What do you do on the 4th...I would love to hear about it!

What a weekend...and a "pass it along RAK"

Gosh...I am not even sure where to start or what to say...Father's Day we had a major scare...it ended up with my husband going to the hospital...the short of it is that he collapsed, stopped breathing and was completely passed out. He was taken by ambulance to our local hospital. We spent the day and evening in the cardiovascular ward of the hospital...they have determined that his heart is fine...which is such a relief for us. He was dehydrated we know that for sure...and there is a small chance that he could have had a seizure. He is home and we are so thankful for all of the calls, emails, letters and prayers. It means a lot to us to have such supportive friends and family....thank you so much.

Toward the end of the last week I received a super fun RAK from Pam (thank you so much Pam!)...sorry I didn't take a picture....it's been a bit crazy...but this is a "pay it forward" RAK...so...if you would like to play a long here is how it works.

Leave me a comment under this thread that says "I want to play"...the first 3 to do this will receive a RAK from me...you then list the RAK on your blog and "pay it forward" to 3 other scrappers...make sense?

Hope everyone is off to a great Tuesday...I am off to spend time with my folks...since they came in to help us when Chad was hospitalized. Have a wonderful day!

Father's Day Gift "Golf Nut" and a sneak peek of the Scrappin Sports and More Summer CHA 2008 releases

After finishing up the altered golf blocks that I made last week with the amazing SSM papers I decided that I should also include a little "treat" for Dad as well...so I pulled out this prima tin that use to hold flowers (yep...another "green project"), some scrappin' sports and more golf papers, chipboard , vinyl, ribbon and mod podge (I should buy stock in this stuff)!

Anyway, I think this turned out pretty cute and I am sure my Dad will love it! All I have left to do now is get this and the blocks into the mail...whew! just in time :)

Here's a few pictures of the tin:

Now for the sneak peek...shhh don't tell ;)

Scrappin' Sports and more has some new amazing papers and embellishments being released at summer CHA! If you want to take a lookie before everyone else...here's your chance...you can view all of the new papers and embellishments here (oh and the girl's sports line...is glitter paper...it's so kewl!...who doesn't love glitter!)

...and Monday brings...

A trip to the ER! Ashlee woke up in the middle of the night wheezing and saying she couldn't breathe...I figured she was having a bad nightmare so I calmed her down and put her in bed with us...but she continued to wheez during the next hour or so...so we headed off to the hospital.

When we got there she was complaining about her stomach hurting and I was fearful it might be something serious...but lucky for us...she is ok...just allergies...but that sure gave us a scare!

So over at BBTB this week we were challenged to use the popsicle cut from the doodle charms cartridge....I really struggled with this cut for some reason...but the other designers sure have given me an idea of different directions to go with the "cut"...it's so much fun to see everyone else's take on the challenge...

So here's my card:

You will want to make sure to check out the other creations...these ladies do amazing work!

Father's day gift using scrappin' sports and more

It's hard to believe that Father's Day is right around the corner! This year just seems to be flying! Summer is full in swing...and I am officially running out of ideas *already* to keep the kids busy!

My Dad is a huge "golf guy/golf nut" everything is about golf! scrappin' sports and more offers several fun golf papers and embellishments that are just perfect for those "golf guys" in your life!

For this project I headed out to my local home improvement store to pick up some 4x4's...and had them cut while I was there too...gotta love a guy with a saw right ;)

I also "went green" on this project and used an old cereal box to make my own chipboard with the cricut and SCAL program...gosh I think I am a little addicted to my bug and SCAL lately...

Here's the completed altered wood project:

I have a few more "golf" projects to finish up...I hope to share more soon.

I would love to see your Father's Day ideas too...if you have something to share I would love to take a look...leave me a link in the comments section.

Also if you have any ideas on how to keep your kids busy in the summer...please help a girl out ;) LOL!

Here is a preview of the digital kit:

and here is a layout I made with this kit of Ashlee enjoying a favorite summer time treat (this layout is also in the magazine along with an amazing layout by Reneé):

Over at BBTB we were challenged to use the grasshopper cut from the "stretch your imagination" cartridge....

Here is my take on it:

Also over at Page Plans there were 2 more amazing sketches revealed this week! If you haven't been over there to check out the sketches and also what the amazing design team did this week...you will want to!
