Some digital layouts to share

This month at Scrapstreet we were assigned to work with 2 designers and design a layout using one of their kits.

I was assigned to Sue and Dora...and here is what I was able to come up with.

Here is a layout that I did using Dora's kit called bright bikini...this a super fun kit full of bright colors that are just cheerful and fun to use on your layouts! If you want to see the kit preview head on over to Scrapstreet.com and check it out.

Here is a layout that I was able to make with Sue's Digital kit this month...I have had these photos for so long and when I saw this kit...it was perfect! The kit is called Creative Kitchen both papers and elements are sold separately so make sure to grab both...again this is for sale at www.scrapstreet.com.

Pinewood Derby...and crafty Mom...

Well what can I say...I just couldn't leave Jackson's car alone..I had to add some vinyl and a bat to spice it up a bit...Jackson is really excited for tonight...and is hopeful for a win and to also show off his car...and I wish I felt better but I am a bit under the weather so I am not sure if I will be able to make it out tonight with the family :(...

But here is Jackson's Car :) (sorry for the blurry photos...I am way to sick to worry about it...it's a miracle I am blogging...LOL)

Vinyl on Cricut project/Organization and a Scrappin Sports and More card to share

So I have been a bit quiet lately...for me anyway...I have been organizing again, pulling pictures for some new Scrappin' Sports and More layouts to use with their brand new papers!!! and did I mention I am organizing...still a long way to go...mind you...but I did find these rather large jars at Target last night and of course I had to label them with some vinyl...:)

Can you believe that I have filled 2 of these and ...(hanging head) still have enough ribbon to maybe fill 2 more!

So...here's the jar (sorry for the glare...but it was late...and well it's glass and flash...so that's what happens)

*Thanks to Kathy for leaving me a message about contact paper...everything is straight :) and the promise to make a video demonstration on how to cut and apply is coming ... soon I promise ;)

And here is a card I made with the Scrappin' Sports and More young and active collection...If you are heading to CHA make sure you stop by their booth and check out all of the amazing offerings (I hope to have many more projects to share with you at the end of the week and the beginning of next ;))

Fun "Virtual" Weekend...

Well this weekend I grabbed my Scrappin' Sports and More papers and a great friend (Reneé) and we had a virtual crop! We challenged each other all weekend to use the super fun young and active line from Scrappin' Sports and More to make some fun cards!

It had been a while since I made cards...all weekend at least...but it ended up being a lot of fun! I do have a few challenges to still try and get to...but here is what I have so far :)

Kissed By Cupid

Do you just love Valentine's Day? Well I sure do...so in honor of all of the Valentine's Day Lovers out there I created a new digital kit called Kissed by Cupid.

The kit combines fun and fresh style with deep and rich colors... and of course all of the basics a scrapper needs to make a great page...cardstock, pattern papers, ribbons, brads, eyelets, tags, paper clips, and buttons!...it truly is a fun kit!

Back at it....

Well I have the itch to cut vinyl on my cricut expression again! So tonight I made a little sign for Valentine's Day! It was rather difficult to line everything up just so ...so it's not totally perfect...I think my OCD is going to break down (tonight) and purchase some transfer tape so I can design it and lay it out just the way I want :)

But for what it is worth (sorry bad glare on the tips of the letters...they are not blurred..but it's hard to get a great picture inside at night) here it is :)

Now on to how I actually did it (as I have been getting a lot of emails about my creations lately...thank you all for the super nice compliments :))

I first designed it on my design studio on a 12x12 mat and then put a sheet of vinyl to fit onto my 12x12 mat (the vinyl I purchased at a local sign shop...and it is rather cheap to do it that way)

I then took a 12x12 tile that I purchased from Home Depot and placed the letters on much like you would a scrapbooking sticker...as the vinyl is sticky on the back side....and tried to line it up as best as I could. However, you can purchase transfer tape for the vinyl and it makes the process so much easier! When my tape arrives...(as I have to order it) I will try to take a movie of how you do it to share with all of my cricut buds :)

And our Digital Kit is finished....

Reneé and I have been working hard on finishing up a digital kit that we named "Freckled Summer"...Since freckles are summers kisses! We are really excited about our new kit...it will be a free kit in the June issue of Scrapstreet Magazine! If you are not familar with scrapstreet magazine it is a monthly publication that is available online and you can check it out at scrapstreet.com ! (click here for a shortcut to the magazine).

Oh and check out our kit preview on our Demoss Road Design blog by clicking here!

We look forward to seeing what you create with our kit

So I entered....

I discovered a really awesome blog a few weeks ago called bitten by the bug each week they have a challenge and the design team creates something based on that challenge. It has been really fun "lurking" and seeing what this amazing group of talented crafters come up with each week!

This week during my regular "lurk" session...I saw that there was a contest that was posted for this month...and guess what we can all enter it! So what is a girl to do...but come out from lurk-dum and participate!

The challenge was that we were to use a shape from one of the cricut cartridges and create a card in that shape. I decided to use walk in my garden cartridge and chose the lady bug shape to make my card.

So here is what I came up with...I will be posting a link on the bitten by the bug blog (under comments section just under the challenge) along with all of the other ladies that decide to join in the fun! There are already other cards in there...each of them are so cute and different...so head on over and check it out...and of course if you have a cricut...join us in the fun!

Here is my card (front of card)

Inside of card:

Back of card:

Oh...and I almost forgot...I saved my pattern...as I welded the shapes together in the cricut design studio software (pattern also includes the front shell, the 2 inside peices and of course the cute little heart on the back)...so if you have this software...and you want to try to make this card on your own...grab it from me here (give me a shout out if you do...so I know...and leave me a link of where I can see your completed card!)

A Layout to Share

Well it's been a few day since I had something to share...I have decided to get my scrap space organized and it's in a bit of a mess right now :) I hope to get that problem solved soon!

Today I did sit down and finish up a layout that I had laid out. It's using the Swing papers from Scrappin Sports! These papers are just fun! They are from the young and active line and the colors and textures match up perfectly with those every day moments we all have :)

Cricut Expression+Cricut Design Studio=A lot of Fun!

Well I finally feel like I can relax and have a bit of fun...it's honestly been a while since I was able to just create...just because ;) While I love doing design team work...and it truly motivates me to stretch myself...creating just for "fun"...well it's...FUN! LOL

So this year for Christmas my DH surprised me with a new cricut expression (I had the little bug...but now I am a big bug owner) and the cricut design studio! Along with a few very fun cartridges...so what is a girl to do...

I have so many projects in the works right now...but I wanted to share with you a little v-day card I made with the Mickey and Friends cartridge and the plaintin SchoolBook cartridge.

Several Layouts to share....

Well I am determined to start the year out in fast mode I guess...or at least try to get all caught up in the first week of Jan...:)

I finally finished the layouts from the digital template shopp...the digital template shopp is opening on Jan. 15th! and here is a preview of the layouts that I will have there :)

Happy New Year 2008!

I want to wish you all a Very Happy New Year!!! I hope that this year brings you much joy and happiness!

As for me...I am almost giddy to be starting a New Year! I am really excited about 2008 and all of the possibilities that it holds! I couldn't even sleep in this morning...strange given the fact that I actually fell asleep somewhere around 11pm (I know...I am getting old...). But not to worry my family woke me up in time for the ball dropping! and then we all headed back to bed!
